On 19 January 2013, Michelle's life changed forever when her son, Alex Rath, was fatally electrocuted whilst at work. Just 23 years old, Alex left behind a devastated family and fiancé.
Today, as a CNB speaker, she (also occasionally joined by her husband Rob) speaks to businesses to share her story and provide first-hand insight into how workplace accidents impact the families and friends they leave behind.
Intended to challenge team members to think before they act, Michelle's impactful session speaks to everyone - whether on the factory floor or in the office - about the gut-wrenching realities of death in the workplace.

Friday, 28 April 2023 marks Workers' Memorial Day 2023, and The International Trades Union Congress theme for this year is ‘Remember the dead, fight for the living’.
We believe that any fatality at work is unacceptable. So on this day we'll stop and remember Alex and all those lost and who suffer as a result of workplace incidents.
